Honestly, it felt like one of those warm little surprises you don't expect but end up completely falling for. From the very first "NO, I WON'T CARRY BAG'S," Dell had me chuckling - because let's face it, we've all had our Dell moments where we just refuse to budge. But what made this book so special to me was how it gently, and in such a playful, heartfelt way, showed that there's strength in knowing when to be firm, and when to bend.
And can we talk about the circus part? That was my favorite! Dell trying new things, joining the crew, selling popcorn and hula hoops - it was so joyful and unexpectedly emotional. The way he stepped up during the disaster and used the very bags he once refused to carry? That full-circle moment gave me goosebumps. It was such a clever way of showing growth without losing who you are. - Intellectual Bookaholic 20
Encouraging, humorous, delightful, courageous, and important read! Dell is such a fun character. I love his fun spirit and his character development. His curiosity and adventurous spirit make the story truly special. I love that Dell starts off refusing to do anything he doesn't want to do then transitions into being flexible during times of need. His creativity and willingness to change his perspective make him into a true hero. This is such an important message for children to read about. Admitting your mistakes, asking for help, and putting others first are valuable themes this book showcases wonderfully.
I love the beautiful illustrations in this book. I adore the transitions the storyline takes giving a full view of Dell's life before the circus, at a turning point, and during the circus. The message of strength of resilience is fantastic! I love this book! - Young Family
